INDIGESTION

What is Indigestion?
Indigestion covers a variety of symptoms including pain near the breastbone, nausea or bloating.

What can cause Indigestion?
Indigestion occurs when your stomach produces excess acid, usually as the result of eating spicy, rich or fatty foods, tight clothing, alcohol, caffeine, smoking, stress, pregnancy or eating too quickly.

How does Mylanta help relieve Indigestion?
Mylanta® Antacids neutralise existing stomach acid, delivering fast, effective relief from the discomfort of indigestion.  Mylanta 12 Hour Action decreases the amount of acid made by the stomach in the first place, delivering relief for up to 12 hours.

HEARTBURN

What is Heartburn?
Heartburn or reflux occurs when stomach acid rises into the oesophagus (food pipe). You can experience it as a burning sensation behind the breastbone, as nausea and even regurgitation of food or liquid.

What can cause Heartburn?
Heartburn can be caused by consumption of spicy or fatty foods, change in posture, tight clothing, physical exertion, pregnancy, alcohol and smoking.

How does Mylanta® Heartburn Relief help relieve Heartburn?
Mylanta Heartburn Relief liquid and tablets contain both antacids as well as an alginate. The antacid content in Mylanta Heartburn Relief will neutralise stomach acid, providing fast and effective relief from heartburn. In addition, the alginate forms a protective raft over stomach contents which prevents acid from rising up into the oesophagus (foodpipe).

How does Mylanta 12 Hour Action help relief Heartburn?
By reducing the amount of acid the stomach produces, Mylanta 12 Hour Action minimises the risk of excess stomach acid flowing back up the oesophagus (foodpipe) to cause heartburn.

WIND PAIN

What is Wind Pain?
Wind pain is caused by excessive amounts of gases or air in the stomach or intestine. It can lead to distension of the organs and general discomfort. Symptoms include bloating, flatulence and burping.

Causes of Wind Pain
You can get wind pain from eating too quickly, air swallowing and drinking carbonated liquids.

How do Mylanta® Antacids help relieve Wind Pain?
Mylanta Original and Double Strength antacid liquid and tablets all contain an anti-flatulent called simethicone. This anti-flatulent quickly relieves wind pain by dissipating excess gas bubbles in the stomach.
